Day 9 of 365.
It’s a blisteringly blustery day. We’ve had rain mixed with sleet off and on today. Nothing serious so far, but still winter is making its presence known. When I saw that the photo prompt from Our Daily Challenge (Flickr group) was “tree” today, I thought, “That might be a problem. I’m not going outside.”
I didn’t have to it turns out. I just opened the window in my kitchen and snapped a shot of the back yard. I was quite pleased to find my friend the woodpecker in this happensnap. The photo is a bit grainy because I cropped way down to emphasize the bird. I need to plant a tree the woodpecker would be interested in a little closer to my kitchen window, I guess.
In other back yard news, my fears that the birds would not find the new feeder I set up yesterday were grossly unfounded. They come not in single spies but in battalions.
On the next warm day I’m going to clean the glass in my back doors so that I can take pictures through the glass. I should be able to catch some interesting (if not exactly professional quality) shots of my bird army then.
