This is a photograph of my great-grandmother with my grandmother. Much to my surprise, her given name was not Mimi. It was Daisy. I am now officially obsessed with trying to figure out who her people were. Unfortunately, her father’s name was Jesse Smith, and it turns out there are a lot of those in this world. It is proving very difficult to trace her family background.
